Welcome to Barefoot by the Beach, a relaxed coastal retreat in one of Mangawhai Heads’ most sought-after locations. Sleeping up to 10 guests and just a short stroll from the beach, this is a fantastic spot for families and groups looking to enjoy everything Mangawhai has to offer.

Set back from the road on a generous section, the home enjoys wonderful views across the estuary, coastline and out to sea. Best of all, you can leave the car behind – Picnic Bay is just a couple of minutes from the gate, while Mangawhai Heads Surf Beach is an easy five-minute walk away.

The home has plenty of space to spread out and a relaxed beach-house feel. Upstairs are three bedrooms, with a King, Queen and Double bed, while downstairs provides additional sleeping with a Double and Single bed, plus a fold-out sofa bed, accommodating up to 10 guests in total. With two bathrooms, the house works particularly well for larger families or two families holidaying together.

Outdoor living is a real highlight with stunning views from the front deck and a sheltered area at the back for evening BBQs or simply relaxing after a day at the beach. For entertainment, challenge the family to a game of table tennis or the large front lawn gives the kids plenty of room to play while the adults sit back and enjoy the laid-back Mangawhai atmosphere. There is also a TV with Chromecast so you can stream from your phones.

Surfers, swimmers, walkers and anglers are particularly well catered for, with the surf beach, coastal walks, dunes and fishing all within easy reach. There is also generous off-street parking, including space suitable for a boat.

Barefoot by the Beach combines the charm of a classic Mangawhai beach holiday with a superb location and plenty of room for everyone. Wander down to the beach in your jandals, come home for a BBQ and a cold drink, and settle in to enjoy the views – this is Mangawhai holiday living at its best.

Please note the following:

1. The master bedroom upstairs has a very large walk-in wardrobe, but the two adjacent bedrooms are quite small rooms and have very limited clothes storage.
2. Downstairs is very open plan with no doors separating the sleeping area.

LINEN OPTIONS:  To keep your holiday more affordable, for this property we offer linen as an optional extra for guests who prefer to bring their own. If you choose to bring your own linen, you will need to supply top and bottom sheets, pillowcases, towels and bath mats. Pillows, Duvets and Duvet covers will be provided.
Alternatively, a rental linen package is available for $25 per person. To request this service, please add a note to your booking specifying the number of people requiring linen and which beds you would like prepared.

BOOKING PAYMENT: Although your credit card details are taken during the booking process, we won't automatically charge your credit card. Once your booking is approved we will send you a payment email with a choice of credit card payment (a 3% surcharge applies) or bank transfer (no charges).
