The space
Sun, Strum & Surf is a bright, sun-filled four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with two living areas and a covered deck that looks straight out over the estuary and dunes. Designed for families who want to relax and play, the layout gives everyone room to spread out — a comfy lounge for downtime, a music room for the creatives, and a deck that soaks up all-day sun and peaceful water views.

Upstairs is a large bedroom with Queen and a full bathroom. Downstairs features 2 bedrooms with Queen beds and one with a set of Single bunks and a second bathroom and laundry.

Family & fun
We’ve set Sun, Strum & Surf up for active family holidays:
•    Two kayaks (with trolley) — plus roof straps for guests with a roof rack, and life jackets for adults and kids
•    Inflatable paddleboard, boogie boards and skim boards
•    Soccer goal, table tennis, and loads of outdoor space for games
•    Board games, jigsaws and books for rainy days
•    Music lovers: a record player + vinyl collection, large CD collection, and guitars in the music room

Sleep well on comfortable beds with quality linen in a house that is cosy in winter and cool in summer:

•    Heat-pump units in both living areas
•    Portable heaters and fans available for bedrooms
•    Spare blankets for cooler nights

Kitchen & entertaining
A very well equipped kitchen with extras for your culinary enjoyment: Nespresso, rice cooker, pasta maker, bread maker, crockpot and plenty of bench space — great for long breakfasts or lunches or feeding a crowd after a day at the beach.

Pet & child friendly
We welcome small to medium non-shedding dogs — the property is fully fenced, which is perfect for pets and young children to run around safely.

Location
•    5-minute walk to the estuary
•    20-minute walk to Mangawhai shops, cafes and bars
•    A few minutes’ drive to the surf beach, the golf course, Mangawhai Activity Zone and more
•    Great base for exploring nearby beaches: Te Arai, Forestry, Pacific Beach, Langs Beach, Waipu Cove (all approx 10–30 minutes by car)
•    Golfing: Te Arai and Tara Iti within ~25 minutes; plenty of other courses nearby
•    Local markets, cafes, restaurants, and the famous Bennett’s chocolate shop & café are all close by

LINEN OPTIONS:  To keep your holiday more affordable, for this property we offer linen as an optional extra for guests who prefer to bring their own. If you choose to bring your own linen, you will need to supply top and bottom sheets, pillowcases, towels and bath mats. Pillows, Duvets and Duvet covers will be provided.
Alternatively, a rental linen package is available for $25 per person. To request this service, please add a note to your booking specifying the number of people requiring linen and which beds you would like prepared.

BOOKING PAYMENT: Although your credit card details are taken during the booking process, we won't automatically charge your credit card. Once your booking is approved we will send you a payment email with a choice of credit card payment (a 3% surcharge applies) or bank transfer (no charges).
